Individual change is where social change begins
DRRA believes meaningful social change can start with one person. When an individual gains rights, access, education and inclusion, they can become an agent of change β first in their family, then their community, and eventually more widely.
Individual
Rights, access, therapy, education and inclusion for one person
Family
Reduced caregiving burden, new income, shared hope
Community
Community leadership, ownership and participation grow
Society
Local change contributes to wider, systemic change
Community is never separate from individual support β DRRA works directly with communities at every step, not around them.
How we choose and tell sponsorship stories
Every sponsorship story DRRA publishes follows an internal guideline built around consent, dignity and verified information. This is a summary of that guideline, not the full internal document.
Story for Change
What happened to this person, and what measurably changed in their life, health, education or income.
Story for Inclusion
How accessibility, rights and participation opened doors that were previously closed.
Story for Empowerment
How the person, and often their family, moved from receiving support to leading and contributing.
Every sponsorship story is checked against DRRA's child and adult safeguarding policy before it is published. Families give informed consent for any name, photo or personal detail used, and that consent can be withdrawn at any time. Case selection favours stories that reflect the real range of DRRA's work, not only its most dramatic outcomes, so sponsors see an honest picture of what their support achieves.
Not just a project. A person, a story, a change.
A sponsorship package is built to answer four questions: what happened, what changed, how the family changed, and how the community benefited.
