Legal & policies
How DRRA operates, and how we protect the people who support and work with us.
Accessibility Statement
DRRA is committed to meeting WCAG 2.2 AA across this website, in the spirit of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Bangladesh's Rights and Protection of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2013. Keyboard navigation, screen-reader support, adjustable contrast and text size, and reduced-motion options are available via the accessibility toolbar in the corner of every page. If you encounter a barrier, please contact us so we can fix it.
Privacy Policy
DRRA collects only the information needed to process a donation, respond to an inquiry, or deliver a newsletter you've asked for — typically your name, email address, and payment details for transactions. We do not sell or rent personal data to third parties.
Payments are processed by our payment partners (bKash, our bank and PayPal), who handle account details under their own security standards; this website never asks for or stores payment card numbers. Email communications are sent through standard third-party email delivery services.
We retain donor and contact records only as long as needed for financial record-keeping, legal compliance, and maintaining our relationship with you. You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing info@drra-bd.org.
Terms of Use
By using this website, you agree to use it only for lawful purposes — browsing our programmes, making a donation, purchasing from our shop, or contacting our team. You may not attempt to disrupt the site, scrape content for commercial resale, or misrepresent your identity when submitting a form.
All text, photographs, logos and design on this site belong to DRRA or are used with permission, and may not be reproduced for commercial purposes without written consent. Programme photographs are used with the informed consent of the individuals or their guardians.
This website is provided "as is." While we work to keep information accurate and current, DRRA is not liable for errors, omissions, or temporary unavailability of the site.
Child & Adult Safeguarding Policy
DRRA maintains a zero-tolerance safeguarding policy protecting children and vulnerable adults across all programmes, staff, volunteers and partners. All staff, volunteers and partner-organisation representatives working directly with beneficiaries undergo safeguarding orientation before placement and sign a code of conduct.
Photographs, names and personal details of beneficiaries are used only with informed consent from the individual or their guardian, and that consent can be withdrawn at any time. Concerns can be raised confidentially through our reporting channel below or by emailing info@drra-bd.org.
Whistleblower Policy
A confidential reporting channel is available to staff, volunteers, partners and the public to raise concerns about misconduct, safeguarding risks, or financial irregularities without fear of retaliation.
Reports can be made by emailing info@drra-bd.org with "Confidential Report" in the subject line, or in writing to the DRRA head office address listed in our footer. Reports are reviewed by senior leadership outside the reporting individual's direct line of supervision, and DRRA does not tolerate retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith.
Anti-Fraud & Anti-Corruption Policy
DRRA maintains internal financial controls including segregated approval for expenditures, documented procurement procedures, and regular reconciliation of programme and donor funds. Annual financial statements are independently audited and are available on request through our Impact page.
Suspected fraud, bribery or misuse of funds by staff, volunteers or partners can be reported confidentially through the Whistleblower channel above. All reports are investigated, and substantiated cases are addressed through disciplinary action, recovery of funds where possible, and referral to authorities where required by law.
Conflict of Interest Policy
Board members, senior staff and anyone involved in procurement, hiring or grant decisions are required to disclose any personal, financial or family relationship that could reasonably influence their judgment on DRRA's behalf.
Disclosed conflicts are recorded, and the individual concerned recuses themselves from the relevant decision, discussion and vote. Undisclosed conflicts discovered later are addressed through the Whistleblower and Anti-Fraud procedures above.
Your Data-Protection Rights
Wherever you are located — including supporters in the European Union covered by the GDPR — you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request its correction or deletion, and object to or restrict certain processing. DRRA does not sell personal data, so there is nothing to opt out of in that respect.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@drra-bd.org with your request, and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe consistent with applicable law.
